About us
Our Story
Living in Denver, with backyard chickens, a garden, and our growing family, we dreamed of moving to the country and starting a homestead where we could use the knowledge and skills we had developed to create a farm that provides great quality food to the community and restores health to the land at the same time!
When the opportunity came in December of 2022 we packed up our family of (at the time) 10 and made the move to South East Oklahoma.
The a pair of Grandparents in and the youngest sister to Amie along for the ride we have jumped into this new way of life with both feet.
The Farm
Located right in-between Wilburton and Hartshorne Oklahoma, our farm is on the a south facing spur of the San Bois Mountains. We are current raising dairy goats, American Gini Hogs, meet chickens, and chickens for eggs! We also have a large garden where our kids love to harvest things to help Mom in the kitchen. We would love to meet you so feel free to give us a call and come out and see us sometime.
The Far Country Farm Team
David - The Dad
Having worked in as everything from professional cheese maker (and winning awards) to missionary to the lost (and winning his wife's heart.) David is the muscles behind the operation.
Amie - The Mom
Homeschooling mom of 9, home chef, and gardener. Amie serves her family and community faithfully and with love. She is the heart of what we do!
The Kids
They play, they work, they learn. These guys are awesome. Each has a role on the farm, and as they grow in responsibility and maturity they take on more and more of what we do!
You!
We couldn't do this without your support! By allowing us to serve you, you partner with us in all we do!
Thank you for your praises, correction, and suggestions! We look forward to see you grow as we grow ourselves.
